Instead of writing a boilerplate essay laden with buzzwords, here are some bullet points about me:

  • I was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. I still call soda "pop."

  • Go Cubs. Da Bears.

  • I'm the oldest of four kids. None of us ended up totally fucked up. I consider that a miracle.

  • I took up golf during the pandemic. I’ve gotten a lot better. Mostly I like drinking beer outside and hanging out with friends.

  • I don't have a single favorite movie. I think it's weird when people only have one.

  • My mom moved to the U.S. from Jordan when she was nine. When I was nine, I was rooting for Jordan to win his 5th title with the Bulls.

  • I played Schroeder in my 4th grade production of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. The next year, I failed to land the Prince Charming role in Cinderella when my voice changed. My acting career came to a literal screeching halt.

  • I’ve known that I wanted to be a writer since I was eight years old.

  • I don’t have a big ego, I just want to make the best possible thing with the best available collaborators.

  • I’m a girl dad to the best kids in the world.
