Billy Kirland

I took this photo on a trip to Italy. It was the best trip of my life. Scenes like this one of an open-air local theater in Monterosso al Mare were a big part of the reason why.

Instead of writing a five-paragraph boilerplate essay laden with buzzwords, here are some bullet points about me:

  • I was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. I still call soda "pop."

  • Go Cubs.

  • I'm the oldest of four kids. None of us ended up totally fucked up. I consider that a miracle.

  • I think ketchup is gross. But I won't judge you if you disagree.

  • I play in an adult tennis rec league. I have won one championship and have broken one and a half rackets.

  • I don't have a single favorite movie. I think it's weird when people only have one.

  • My mom moved to the U.S. from Jordan when she was nine. When I was nine, I was rooting for Jordan to win his 5th title with the Bulls.

  • I played Schroeder in my fourth grade production of You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. The next year, I failed to land the Prince Charming role in Cinderella when my voice changed. My acting career came to a literal screeching halt.

  • I've been a bridesmaid, but never a bride, in many screenwriting contests including ScreenCraft's Drama Feature Script Competition.
